Writing with AI

Guidelines & resources

Responsible Use

Generative AI tools, like those in Grammarly, can be effective in helping you as you work through the writing process.  For example, you can use generative AI to brainstorm ideas that you then review and further develop to make your own.  Generative AI can also help you create an outline that you revise to fit the parameters of an assignment.  You can also use generative AI tools to ask for feedback on an outline you’ve already developed in order to further enhance it.  What these examples have in common is your involvement, voice, creativity, and critical evaluation as the writer.

To be responsible when using generative AI, always be sure to follow your professor’s expectations and abide by the university’s policies on academic integrity.

Resources to Help Along the Way!

Writing, like any craft, uses a variety of tools, including generative AI. The Writing Centers are here to support you as you navigate what it means to write with AI and how to do so responsibly! Below you can find workshops, resources, and access to Grammarly to help you along the way.
